Hahnenklee is easily accessible from Clausthal-Zellerfeld: You can get there quite quickly by bus line 830 or by car. Although the town is not large, it offers plenty of variety.
1st action with a summer toboggan run and mountain bikes
There is plenty to do on the Bocksberg. If you don't feel like hiking up, you can take the cable car to the top. The ride takes about ten minutes and the view down to Hahnenklee is also very beautiful. Once at the top, there are plenty of options for you. For four euros, you can ride the summer toboggan run alone or in pairs and decide for yourself how fast you want to whizz down the mountain. The run is more than a kilometer long and you are pulled back up the mountain in a lift at the end.
Sports enthusiasts are also catered for, as the bike park offers many different descents of varying difficulty for you and your mountain bike. You can take the cable car to the top with your bike and choose a route from there. If you don't have your own bike, you can also hire one from the bike store for around 50 euros for four hours.

2nd Liebesbankweg
The Liebesbankweg offers you a beautiful and very well signposted hiking route away from Clausthal. The circular hiking trail is around seven kilometers long and offers beautiful views of the landscape. The starting point is the large parking lot in Hahnenklee, from where you simply have to follow the signs. The whole route revolves around the theme of love: you can discover a total of 25 benches, from the first time you fell in love to a diamond wedding, during the hike. You can also get a stamp for the Harz hiking pin in your hiking pass. There is also a signposted turn-off leading up the Bocksberg from the hiking trail. Ideal if you want to take a break or if you want to try out the summer toboggan run. At the end of the route, you will return to Hahnenklee. The stave church, which is unique in the whole of Germany, awaits you there. It is made entirely of wood and was built in 1907/8 in the Norwegian style. A visit to the church is definitely worthwhile.
3. cool off in the Kuttelbach pond
After hiking or cycling, why not end the day at the Kuttelbach pond? If the weather is nice, you can cool off in the water there without having to pay admission. The pond is around 15 minutes' walk from Hahnenklee. There are changing rooms and a café on site where you can buy a snack or drink. There is even the opportunity to go pedal boating or stand-up paddle boarding on the pond. From time to time, events are also held there, such as barbecue days at the weekend.
